These are the 3 parts of our Autonomic Nervous System.

Parasympathetic Dorsal---- FREEZE

Sympathetic ----FIGHT FLIGHT

Parasympathetic Ventral---- SAFETY/ SOCIAL ENGAGEMENT

Review this chart and reflect on when you have felt each area of the nervous system activate within you.

Begin with FREEZE and work your way down to SAFETY. Complete the process fully before moving to the next.

1. Create an abstract image in response to the situation that activated this part of your nervous system.

2. Sit with the image and then choose a symbol from the shelf.

3. Notice the responses within your body as you reflect on the symbol and journal key words or phrases in your process journal.
